I love the challenge of traveling and being able to create photographs of beloved dogs in urban and gardens of cities I have never been to before!

Before leaving my home state of Michigan, I spend time on Google Maps, searching for modern and historical architecture, iconic landmarks, and garden spaces. With the use of 2D mode + driving the streets on Google Maps, I am able to see which areas of the city hold more promise for photography during a certain time of day.

Upon arriving in that city myself, I like to spend 20-30 minutes walking the streets myself, looking for good lighting and a variety of textures and tones that will provide a balanced variety in the final collection of images.

From there, I meet the clients and their dog(s), and we begin to walk through the city together, stopping at locations I was interested in using, new locations that match the personality of the dog, or the specific requests of the owner that are voiced during the photoshoot.

What I am able to capture is 100% based on the mindset and biddability of the dog, and the precision of the clients/handlers following direction. Together, we can create a stunning collection of photographs that embody the beauty and personality of their beloved dog.

Take a peek at my favorite photos of Hubble, Carly’s Standard Poodle, in Louisville, Kentucky! Hubble’s best friend, a Dalmatian named Annie, was also having her photos taken, so we of course had to photograph a few poses of them together. 💕
